We the undersigned gratefully acknowledge Brisbane City Council’s funding allocation of $167,000 in the 2017-18 budget to investigate the Vectis Street Parkland for remediation and reconstruction purposes. We impress upon the Council that there is a critical shortage of sport and recreation land in Brisbane’s inner eastern suburbs. Sports clubs of every kind are in desperate need for more space to encourage our children to get involved in club sport and live active and healthy lives. Completing field restoration work at Vectis Street Park will go some way to addressing this shortage.
I have signed this petition as a demonstration of my interest and support for the Brisbane City Council remediating and reconstructing Vectis Street Park for sport and recreation purposes. Once the results of this year’s investigations are known, we respectfully request that Brisbane City Council fund the full remediation and reconstruction of the Vectis Street Park sports field in the 2018-2019 budget.
