Residents draw to the attention of Police, local, state and federal members the number of speeding vehicles in and around Salisbury. People of Salisbury Brisbane Queensland would like the police to conduct more road safety programs in and around Salisbury. Trying to cross Orange Grove Road on the pedestrian crossing near Lillian Avenue is like playing russian roulette. Henson Road and Lillian Avenue often sees vehicles travelling at high speed. During school pick up and drop off when the speed is reduced to 40 km/h makes no difference. We are not asking for speed limit changes, we are asking that the current limits be enforced.
Your petitioners therefore request that more enforcement of current speed limits is conducted on the local roads and especially around all the local schools. Not a once off speed trap, but an on going campaign to get the message through to drivers to obey the posted speed limits and to slow down around school zones.
