Residents draw to the attention the lack of footpaths on Herbert Street, Brighton, very dangerous for kids and dog walkers to walk on Herbert Street. As we all pay Council rates and those residents with dogs also pay registration fees.

Your petitioners therefore request Council immediately begin the process of installing concrete footpaths along Herbert Street, Brighton.

Council response

In the 2018-19 financial year, $14.06 million has been distributed evenly between each ward to build new footpaths and make local park improvements. The local councillor decides which new footpath projects are funded from the Deagon Ward Footpath and Parks Trust Fund program, following consultation with adjacent property owners.
Your request for the installation of concrete footpaths along Herbert Street, Brighton, has therefore been referred to Councillor Jared Cassidy, Councillor for Deagon Ward, for consideration. If you would like to discuss your request directly with Councillor Cassidy, please contact his ward office on (07) 3667 6011.
